We may not be Joan of Arc but all of us hear voices in our head! Those little treacherous voices, that fill us with negativity and low self-esteem, self-sabotage our ability to believe in ourselves! Without even realizing it, this negative self-talk represents the vast majority of the inner thoughts that wander daily in our brain! Their sole purpose is to point the finger at us while drowning us in guilt! Listening to their groundless theories entraps our self-development in a web of remorse and self-disappointment. It's like having in our life the most judgmental partner that criticizes everything we do! But, unlike this partner, we find it extremely difficult to tell these voices to hush!
Years of negative self-talk are wiring our brain and this thing gets even worse when we have a judgmental family. This whole mess is making us feel insecure, it fills us with anxiety, and supports the misbelief that we aren't capable of anything!

A tried and true method to reduce the voices' negative impact is the "parrot exercise"! Imagine a caged parrot as a representation of your inner self. Name your parrot and listen to it expressing your negative thoughts out loud. Train it in a manner that gives you supportive feedback and helps you as a friend to become better. Eventually, training this all mumbo jumbo parrot will transform negative thoughts to positive reinforcement and feedback! The more your parrot talks in a positive way the more you embrace and love him!
So write down three of your negative thoughts and then let your... parrot find an effective solution. Gradually, you won't be scaring yourself, you will refine the quality of your self-talk and you'll be more receptive to welcoming miracles in your life!
